Learn more about rural life in the 1850s. The centre of the Bauernhaus Museum is the Möllering farm from Rödinghausen, which dates back to 1590. The museum is worth visiting.

By bus

The museum is served by MoBiel busses on the number 24 route from Jahnplatz to Dornberg, bus stop Bauernhausmuseum. It’s about 4 minutes by foot to the museums’s entrance.

By road

Please use the parking Johannisberg. Here is also a bus parking and caravan site. It’s about 7 minutes by foot to the museums’s entrance.

At the museum’s entrance there is a disabled parking space only.

Accessibility – Visitors with Disabilities

The site is set on sloping ground. The central hall of the main house, the children’s house, Olderdissen’s cottage, the café, and the toilets provide level access and have wide doors. Most other buildings and rooms are accessible by steps and stairways. As far as possible we’re happy to help you.

Dogs Welcome

Dogs are welcome on the open space of the museum. Please respect other visitors by keeping your dog on a lead and under control.

No Smoking

The museum is a no smoking site. Smoking is not permitted in the buildings or in the open spaces within the museum site. You may smoke in designated areas only.

Bicycles, Scooters

For the safety and enjoyment of our visitors, we do not permit bicycles or scooters to be ridden within the museum grounds. We kindly ask you to park them at the museum’s entrance.

Photography

Please feel free to take photographs anywhere on the site, including inside the buildings. If you wish to take photographs (or to film) for commercial purposes or publishing, please contact us in advance of your visit.

Group Visits

We’re pleased to welcome group visits – please book in advance because we can arrange bespoke tours. Our group rate admission prices are: tour in English language, €50,00 plus €2,00 per person (adults, children 6+), length: 1 h.
